Ragtime

The British Theatre Academy presents Ragtime, performed by its exceptional young performers, in a powerful staging of this modern musical masterpiece.

With music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens (Once on This Island, Seussical) and a book by Terrence McNally, based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow, Ragtime is the winner of the 1998 Tony Awards for Best Score, Book and Orchestrations.

Set in the melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, three intertwined stories unfold - a privileged woman seeking purpose, a Jewish immigrant chasing opportunity, and a young Harlem musician daring to dream. Their journeys collide in a moving and timely story of hope, justice and change.

Praised by TIME Magazine as “a triumph for the stage”, Ragtime is a thrilling, emotional musical brought to life by the next generation of theatre talent.
